4. Passive houses: Here now, more soon

Passive house scheme All new private and public buildings must be ‘passive’ from 2015 on and they must meet the more stringent requirements of ‘nearly zero’ energy consumption from 2020. Like the periodic inspection of cars, these requirements are in compliance with an EU directive that applies also within the EEA, of which Norway is a member.
