Ila only option for Breivik
Published on Tuesday, 15th May, 2012 at 09:19 under the news in brief category, by Lyndsey Smith
.
Ila prison would need partial conversion if Anders Behring Breivik is sentenced to compulsory psychiatric treatment at the end of his trial.
The facility is the only place Breivik could receive treatment as the Police Security Service (PST) has rejected Dikemark, Sandviken and Brøset on the grounds of security.
A part of the prison would then require conversion into a hospital for Breivik, with psychiatric experts from Dikemark providing the treatment.
If Breivik is found to be sane, and sentenced to a jail term, he would then serve is time in the prison’s high-security wing, reports VG.
This facility would have to be in place for the end of Breivik’s trial, which is scheduled to come to a close in July before 22nd.
