Leader of interest organisation Norsk Bonde-og Småbrukarlag, Merete Furuberg, told Nationen that consumers are able to get all the chicken they need from Norwegian producers, but only enough beef for five out of six meals.
At the same time, she believes that more advertising needs to be done for different meat and farmers should fight for the image of red meat as being unhealthier than white.
“I am not the chicken farmers’ enemy but we must use the resources provided in this grassy country of Norway.”
