Two members of Greenpeace caused a stir at last night’s gala dinner in the Palace in Copenhagen.

Norwegian Nora Christiansen and Juanxto de Uralde were so well-dressed that they got past security guards, and arrived at the dinner.

Taking banners out from beneath their clothes with the words “Politicians talk, Leaders act” written on them they displayed the placards before 120 heads of state, who had chosen to eat dinner, instead of attending the conference itself.

“We are extremely satisfied that we managed to get in and convey our message so clearly. It’s not acceptable that heads of state spend time at a gala dinner whilst ongoing negotiations are in such a critical phase,” Mads Flarup Christensen, Greepeace’s Secretary General for the Nordic region says in a press release.

The organisation fears that the any deal reached, however bad, will be greenwashed.

Police arrested both Christiansen and de Uralde, putting them in jail.
