According to the research, prejudice in Norway, although quite small, was similar to that in Britain, the Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden.
The findings show that almost one in five of Norwegians believes there is some sort of global Jewish conspiracy.
Of those surveyed, 19 percent agreed with the statement that ‘the world's Jews are working in secret to advance Jewish interests’.
Study coordinator Øyvind Kopperud at the centre also revealed other findings including how one in four see Jews as exploiting the Holocaust for their own advantage.
Moreover, eight percent of those in Norway that took part also admitted that they were unwilling to have Jews as friends or neighbours. This was more common amongst men, those with lower education, and the eldery.
“Several of the individual numbers are directly daunting,” he said to NTB, stating these were in a politically and economically stable country.
Mr Kopperud believes it is important to underline that few at school, university, and their place of employment have Jewish colleagues or friends. There are approximately 1,500 Jews in Norway.
“So when they talk about Jews and their views on Jews, they talk about the mythical "Jew", and this is completely different from the attitude of other minorities that are quite visible,” he said.
The researcher also found that people who were pro-Palestinian were not necessarily anti-Semitic, with three out of four not showing any form of anti-Semitism.
The survey’s report concluded with recommendations to help stop anti-Semitic attitudes. 12.5 percent represents approximately 600,000 of Norway’s population.
Last year, the Norwegian government gave the centre three million kroner to chart Norwegians' views about Jews, as well as providing anti-Semitism teaching courses. Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg has apologised to Norway's Jews for their deportation under WWII.
