Norwegian flight in attempted hijacking drama. Turkish Airlines say 59 passengers on one of its flights from Oslo Gardermoen Airport to Istanbul were involved in a hijacking attempt earlier today, according to CNN Turk. The hijacker tried to gain access to the cockpit 50 minutes from Ataturk Airport, shouting, “I am carrying a bomb,” and demanded the plane return to Norway. “One Turkish-speaking person at the very rear put on a mask, and threatened to blow the plane up in midair,” eyewitness Salim Tahir tells TV2.

Turkish Airlines say 59 passengers on one of its flights from Oslo Gardermoen Airport to Istanbul were involved in a hijacking attempt earlier today, according to CNN Turk.

The hijacker tried to gain access to the cockpit 50 minutes from Ataturk Airport, shouting, “I am carrying a bomb,” and demanded the plane return to Norway.

“One Turkish-speaking person at the very rear put on a mask, and threatened to blow the plane up in midair,” eyewitness Salim Tahir tells TV2.

Police stormed the aircraft when it landed and arrested the man whilst frightened passengers were guided from the plane.
