A layer of cold, stagnant air, combined with exhaust fumes and dust is now covering Stavanger.
Measuring stations in Kannik and Våland are showing such high readings of nitrogen oxide (NO2), that asthmatics and those with respiratory problems could experience breathing difficulties, or even bronchitis, and less resistance to infection.
Egil Bjørlow, head of the council’s health department, confirms that quality of air is now just as bad as Bergen experienced a few weeks ago, reports NRK.
