Norway lands silver and bronze team sprints. It was another winning day for the Norwegians at Holmenkollen today but the gold was just out of reach for the Men’s team, in a battle between Norway Sweden, Finland, and Canada. Petter Northug and Ola Vigen Hattestad won second place in the team sprint classic just 0.2 seconds behind Canada’s Devon Kershaw and Alex Harvey. Hattestad and Harvey were shoulder to shoulder just a few meters before the finish line but the Norwegian could not keep up with his opponent, having to give up on the last run. Third place went to Alexander Panzhinskiy and Nikita Kriukov of Russia.

Meanwhile, in the Women’s team sprint, Swedish duo Ida Ingemarsdotter and Charlotte Kalla took gold after a race of 19:25 minutes, which must have come as a relief after yesterday’s fiasco. Finland’s Aino Kaisa Saarinen and Krista Lahteenmaki finished after 19:28.3 minutes, with Norway having to settle for bronze, ending the race 4.1 seconds behind the winners.
