This will mean Egil Drillo Olsen’s players are to face Portugal for the third time, having previously met them in 1968 and 1980.
“It could have been much worse,” Norway’s manager tells Aftenposten.
“All the five teams in our group are equally good, meaning anyone could win points. We have a fair chance of being one of the two best teams,” he says.
51 countries participated in the draw, conducted by Andriy Shevchenko, Andrzej Szarmach, Oleg Blokhin and Zbigniew Boniek.
In the annual world ranking compiled by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics Norway currently ranks in 32nd place, with 772 points.
