The Foreigner Breivik’s alleged influence offers to help police. A blogger called Fjordman mentioned several times in Anders Behring Breivik’s manifesto has offered to work with investigators. “If I can help in any way to solve all aspects of this horrific crime I am of course happy to do that”, said Fjordman in an email interview with NRK. Breivik’s alleged influence offers to help police

Published on Thursday, 4th August, 2011 at 21:14 under the news category, by Gareth Corfield.

A blogger called Fjordman mentioned several times in Anders Behring Breivik’s manifesto has offered to work with investigators.

“If I can help in any way to solve all aspects of this horrific crime I am of course happy to do that”, said Fjordman in an email interview with NRK. According to Dagbladet, he was interviewed by police in Oslo this afternoon and is now classified as a witness.

The blogger is a prolific writer on a number of anti-Islamic blogs and websites. His posts feature what he claims to be the dangers of Muslim immigration to Europe; other bloggers in the so-called ‘counterjihad’ movement have hailed him as a ‘hero’.

“Many admire him.To stretch it slightly, he is almost seen as a prophet”, says Ole Jørgen Anfindsen, who operates the website Honestthinking.org.

Fjordman’s writings are referenced many times in Breivik’s manifesto. He campaigns for an end to Islamic immigration and the removal of Muslims from Europe, claiming that Islam is totally incompatible with Western liberal democracy.

Breivik, amongst others, appears to have been a great admirer of Fjordman. However, the blogger has made attempts to publicly distance himself from Breivik’s massacre of innocent people.

Despite police claims that Fjordman can help in their investigation, he himself is sceptical. “Personally, I think quite honestly that I have very little information about Breivik, a person I never met” said Fjordman, who claims to be based in Trøndelag.

Police have created a special task force to investigate the right-wing anti-Islamic bloggers who Breivik references in his 1,500 page manifesto. It is not known what action, if any, the police intend to take against them.
