A 33-year-old UK man accused of aiding the killing of his ex partner’s 15-month-old daughter was extradited from London, Monday.

The girl from Oslo died in October 2010. Her mother, 27, was arrested a year later and indicted in connection with the murder.

She alleges she held her child upside down in a bucket of water to discipline her on advice of her then boyfriend.

The mother has denied killing her daughter but acknowledged the facts.

It is claimed the British suspect, due to appear before Oslo District Court today, watched the murder take place over Skype. He asserts he is innocent.

Representing the accused 33-year-old, who agreed to extradition voluntarily, is defence counsel Vibeke Hein Bæra. The man has also had a UK defence counsel.

“The evidence against my client has not been weighed according to standard procedure,” Mrs Hein Bæra told VG. “He was [also] in the UK while the killing took place in Norway.”

Oslo police prosecutor Anne Cathrine Christiansen explained both the accused’ trial is likely to begin in spring or summer next year.
