Court questions irk Breivik. Anders Behring Breivik began to be provoked by prosecutors’ questions about his life before committing the attacks on today’s third day of his trial, reports say. Aftenposten’s political editor Harald Stanghelle told NRK, “We see a prosecutor (Inga Bejer Engh) who is skilled in her questioning that tries to cast doubt on this large, ceremonious, international network, and we notice doubt makes Breivik become very irritated.” It seemed as though Bejer Engh spent a long time yesterday relentlessly questioning Breivik about his education and working life since dropping out of Upper Secondary School, self-study, business ventures and political ideology.

Aftenposten’s political editor Harald Stanghelle told NRK, “We see a prosecutor (Inga Bejer Engh) who is skilled in her questioning that tries to cast doubt on this large, ceremonious, international network, and we notice doubt makes Breivik become very irritated.”

It seemed as though Bejer Engh spent a long time yesterday relentlessly questioning Breivik about his education and working life since dropping out of Upper Secondary School, self-study, business ventures and political ideology.

On several occasions, she employed the technique of building up expectations that Breivik could speak about subjects he wished to, before dashing his hopes by saying “we’ll come back to that later.”

Stanghelle also refers to that it appears as though Breivik is frightened of being seen to contradicting himself, which the accused has reportedly admitted.

Today, questions about the Knights Templar organisation, which he claims exists, became sharper.

“In many ways, you could say that his contacts and ideological fellow fighters are being picked apart and what is left is a homegrown terrorist who has caused an awful lot of pain and suffering in our country, but that may not have the big international superstructure which he has boasted about in ceremonial terms.”

The political editor continues, “And it is this confrontation that destroys his self-image, and ensures that he gets so annoyed at Bejer Engh.”

Fellow prosecutor Svein Holden has said that they are on schedule with their questioning of Breivik about his international network and the Knight’s Templar.

Questions were also asked today about his trip to Liberia in 2002 and his contact with other ultra-nationalists. Breivik was also reluctant to answer questions involving his trip to London.

Thursday has been set aside for questions relating to 2006 leading up to the attack on the government building.

Questions about Utøya are being reserved for Friday. The prosecution is also likely to continue questioning Breivik on Monday.
