Ferries to Denmark cancelled / News / The Foreigner

Ferries to Denmark cancelled. Bad weather has forced ferry companies Color Line and Fjordline to cancel all of their sailings between Kristiansand and Hirtshals. Ingvald Fardal, Fjordline’s Managing Director tells The Foreigner all their catamaran sailings are cancelled until further notice. The weather has also affected their routes between Hirtshals, Stavanger, and Bergen. Yesterday’s 15:00 departure due to arrive in Stavanger early this morning is heavily delayed, and passengers in Bergen due to take the 13:00 departure today will have to either drive to Stavanger, or take a bus.

“We will of course compensate passengers for the petrol should they choose to drive, but the weather has knocked yesterday’s sailing too far out of schedule for us to manage this afternoon’s departure,” says Fardal.

Color Line’s Executive Director, Helge Otto Mathisen, says things are unclear, and they’ve cancelled all sailings for now.

“The weather caught us a little by surprise,” he says.
