No carrots for Bambi

In order to help deer through the winter, and to prevent them being hit by cars or trains, feeding-places in Telemark are regularly festooned with carrots.

But people have been stealing them in trailers to munch during the credit-crunch themselves.

“I don’t know what kind of people would do such a thing, but they are making a big mistake”, Rune Jensen, operations manager in Løvenskiold Fossum forest-company who puts them out, tells the Norwegian Telegram Bureau (NTB).

Apparently, the carrots have been rejected for human consumption due to their shape, size, and for other reasons.

Oh deer.
