Swiss prosecutors believe that the organisation belongs to al Qaeda and has members in several European countries.

“The fledgling terrorist organisation claimed to follow a varied strategy to attract new members and supporters, in order to strengthen the al-Qaeda network's existing organisation,” prosecutors’ statement read, Monday.

The older of the two men is accused of setting up several websites for the organisation that ostensibly included message relaying between Krekar and armed groups in Iraq.

The younger is indicted for allegedly taking part in discussions on the websites and purportedly spreading the group’s message.

It is not known how many supporters this alleged group has in Europe. Researchers believe Mullah Krekar has some 100 dedicated followers throughout Europe and Kurdistan, in addition to many sympathisers, reports NRK.
