UPDATED: An eastern Norway tourism boss allegedly requested a Polish job candidate take off her clothes and enquired about her selling sexual services. He claims they were test questions.

Discussed figures

According to 22-year-old Anna Ciezka, the claimed incident occurred last month at his home during an interview.

The interview regarded her obtaining Polish labour to work at Norwegian hotels.

He then asked her if she had tattoos and piercings, confirming these would have prevented her from getting a job at a hotel when she replied she did not.

Ms Ciezka told Bergens Tidende (BT) he then reportedly continued by asking her “to take her clothes off so I can see.”

“How much would you charge for sex? Is 5,000 kroner enough, 10,000?” she alleges the man enquired following her declining to denude herself.

“He then held up a note with ‘test’ written on it”, Ms Ciezka related, “He said he wanted to test me, but then repeated the offer still stood,” she added.

“A misunderstanding”

The anonymous travel executive related he invited Ms Ciezka home “for practical reasons”, confirming he posed direct questions about her views on prostitution, BT writes.

“I asked her to imagine that a hotel guest offered her 5,000 or 10,000 in return for sex”, he informed the paper.

“It was a test, something I stressed emphatically afterwards. I did this to illustrate that these types of questions could arise in connection with a working situation.”

He declared had no sexual motives, flatly denied he had asked Ms Ciezka to remove her clothes or personally offered her money for sex, and “at best be a misunderstanding.”

Exploitation

“I asked if she had any tattoos or piercings on her body, whereupon she answered no and said she could prove it. She then took her sweater off on her own initiative,” the travel executive alleged.

He also stated he believed his types of questions were “completely normal and relevant” in an interview situation when asked by BT.

Anna Ciezka reported him to police last week.

“We as foreigners willingly arrive in Norway alone, without family,” she explained.

“I believe some people think it’s easier to exploit a foreign woman who is desperate for a job,” concluded Ms Ciezka.
