Centre Party (Sp) Minister of Petroleum and Energy Borten Moe announced he would not be bringing Mongstad’s full-scale CCS plans forward in health risk fears, despite evidence to the contrary.

Minister Solheim’s Norwegian-made BOP (Blowout Preventer) failed. He remarked to NRK that, “I must be honest and say I’m beginning to tire of his solo-playing election campaign initiatives."

“This comes on top of a tribute to the world’s coal mining and his many views that are not underwritten by the government.”

His statements add to those made by Bellona leader Fredric Hauge, who called Minister Borten Moe “an incompetent liar who has declared war on the environmental movement” last week's row over climate targets. Referring to yesterday’s Mongstad issue, Mr Hauge called the “climate problem” minister’s actions “ridiculous”.

Ola Borten Moe did not wish to comment about Minister Erik Solheim's remarks when asked by The Foreigner.
