Norway post Christmas rush on. The ‘great pigeon race’ is now underway if you still have not sent your season’s greetings or presents. Norwegian postal service workers say today is the deadline to deliver parcels and letters if you want guaranteed delivery by Christmas. “We have hired in approximately 1,000 extra staff to cope with the rush. Even senior personnel have to help out in the sorting offices,” Jørn Michaelsen, press spokesperson at Posten, tells The Foreigner.

Norwegian postal service workers say today is the deadline to deliver parcels and letters if you want guaranteed delivery by Christmas.

“We have hired in approximately 1,000 extra staff to cope with the rush. Even senior personnel have to help out in the sorting offices,” Jørn Michaelsen, press spokesperson at Posten, tells The Foreigner.

600 extra lorries and 50 extra postal flights have also been laid on, and express delivery services abroad are open until 22 December.

“It’s all hands on deck,” says Mr Michaelsen.
