Norway waves goodbye to Eurovision. Norway’s hopes of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest came to an abrupt end yesterday after losing in last night’s first semi-finals. Norwegian-Kenyan Stella Mwangi sang “Haba Haba” as well as she could, saying tearfully afterwards, “I was very surprised and heard the public singing and dancing whilst I was on stage.” Amidst technical troubles and calls by Aftenposten’s arts journalist Robert Hoftun Gjestad for a change of management, comes a comment from the African Press International.

Norwegian-Kenyan Stella Mwangi sang “Haba Haba” as well as she could, saying tearfully afterwards, “I was very surprised and heard the public singing and dancing whilst I was on stage.”

Amidst technical troubles and calls by Aftenposten’s arts journalist Robert Hoftun Gjestad for a change of management, comes a comment from the African Press International.

“The song sang by Stella has more of the African rhythm and the Europeans are not used to it. It is therefore a reason that made Stella fail to reach the finals.”

“Everything happens for a reason,” Stella said.
