Who would have thought that a seasonal speciality could get normally matter-of-fact Norwegians sizzling?

Thomas Angell (an apt name at this time of year – Ed.), director of the Federation of Norwegian Commercial and Service Enterprises (HSH), tells Dagbladet he’s heard from quite a few shop owners about near punch-ups.

“Many want fresh ribs for Christmas and therefore wait until the last minute before buying them. This makes the queues long and the customers slightly desperate.”
