The Foreigner Oslo terror suspect admits attacks. UPDATED: Anders Behring Breivik, the 32-year-old accused of being behind twin massacres in Oslo and on Utøya has confessed to police he carried out the attacks. Whilst VG reported last night he had admitted being guilty, this is now not the case, according to TV2. At today’s press conference, police reveal that Mr Breivik alleged under questioning that he acted alone. “He has expressed the attacks were gruesome and that he had to carry out these actions, but in his head, it was necessary,” says Geir Lippestad, Mr Brevik’s defence counsel.

UPDATED: Anders Behring Breivik, the 32-year-old accused of being behind twin massacres in Oslo and on Utøya has confessed to police he carried out the attacks.



Whilst VG reported last night he had admitted being guilty, this is now not the case, according to TV2. At today’s press conference, police reveal that Mr Breivik alleged under questioning that he acted alone.

“He has expressed the attacks were gruesome and that he had to carry out these actions, but in his head, it was necessary,” says Geir Lippestad, Mr Brevik’s defence counsel.

His client has revealed his motive, according to Mr Lippestad, who also says he cannot give any further details for now

“I have to sit down and think about it first,” he tells VG.

Mr Breivik will appear before Oslo District Court on Monday for pre-trial detention, where he says he will give further details.
