The Foreigner Police give up search for missing skier. Rogaland police say they have stopped searching for the fourth skier who went missing whilst on a trip in Sirdal. “We have decided to call off the hunt because we feel there isn’t so much more we can do, as well as out of consideration for the search party,” Operations Leader Kjell Arne Slethei tells NRK. Police and rescuers found the first three victims, a couple in their ‘50s and their daughter of undetermined age, four days ago after a passing skier alerted them to a half-buried body in the snow.

Police give up search for missing skier

Rogaland police say they have stopped searching for the fourth skier who went missing whilst on a trip in Sirdal.

“We have decided to call off the hunt because we feel there isn’t so much more we can do, as well as out of consideration for the search party,” Operations Leader Kjell Arne Slethei tells NRK.

Police and rescuers found the first three victims, a couple in their ‘50s and their daughter of undetermined age, four days ago after a passing skier alerted them to a half-buried body in the snow.

They believe bad weather surprised the party of relatively experienced ski tourists, who succumbed to freezing conditions whilst on a trip between two mountain cabins.

The fourth casualty is the daughter’s 36-year-old fiancé. Two of the deceased had addresses in Germany. The others lived in Switzerland and the UK.
