School-year to end early?. Seagulls close school. Yesterday, Stavanger council closed the first floor of Kristianlyst School because of 30 seagull nests on its roof. According to the council, mites have now been discovered. A pest-control company has been called in to remove the nests but as nesting seagulls are protected by law, dispensation will have to be applied for.

And although students may be hoping that the school will break up for summer, teaching is to be held outside on Monday and Tuesday. The rest of the term is to be completed as planned, save minor adjustments.

That mite not put a smile on their face.
