Genetic evidence

According to Bt.no, the police believe they have secured both the DNA and the name of the assailant. They have also begun to look through photographic evidence of the incident that was taken by a freelance photographer employed to take pictures of the guests.

“We have received many good clues from the public as to both the gunman’s name and who his friends were. There were many people who were present, and several fit the description”, said Pål-Fredrik Hjort Kraby, a lawyer in the Oslo police.

“But as the same person is mentioned in two of the tip-offs, I would strongly advise him to contact the police.”

Dramatic

The dramatic episode occurred at 03:17 on Saturday night not far from the Sir Winston Pub, and began as an argument over a jacket.

According to the Norwegian Telegram Bureau (NTB) three men in their 20s, including a doorman, were wounded when the man fired several shots.

“There was one person who shot and hit three people”, Bjørn Ølstad, the operation’s leader told Aftenposten.no.

Escape

Police say that the man ran off after the shooting and got into a dark Volkswagen estate. He is described as being 1.70 high, in his 20s, and wearing dark clothes and a cap at the time. They will also study footage from the video-surveillance cameras that are placed in the area.

Two of the injured were taken to Aker hospital, whilst the third was taken to Ullevål.

“The three are not life-threateningly injured, but the situation for the 22 year-old who was shot in the thigh is said to be serious”, said Kraby.
