The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says both leaders will also be discussing the creation of a Palestinian state.

In December last year, Norway formally upgraded the Palestinian representation in Norway in connection with Palestine’s Prime Minister Salaam Fayyad’s visit, announcing the country was to get its own embassy.

Foreign Minister Støre also discussed the two-state solution during his brief visit to the Middle East in January.

Norway chairs the Ad-hoc Liaison Committee’s (AHLC) donor group, responsible for coordinating the international community’s support towards building Palestinian institutions in the run-up to a two-state solution.

Mr Blair has served as the Quartet Representative to the Middle East for the USA, UN, Russia, and the EU after resigning as Prime Minister in June 2007.
