A bad time for Speedy Gonzales

NRK Rogaland reports that the police will be out on the roads to catch speeding motorists this Easter.

“Our experience is that police that are visible on the roads contribute towards people reducing their speed”, John Steven Hasseldal, the leader of Rogaland and Agder’s traffic-police tells them.

And it’s the aggressive motorists that overtake dangerously he says they are most interested in.

Both the E39 and Rv45 will be roads where they will be out in force on the main travel days.

Eight hours bottle to throttle

On Easter Saturday, they will be focusing on driving whilst under the influence. Hasseldal lists Sirdal as one of the places where they will be breathalysing motorists.

Licences lost

Rogalands Avis reports that between the hours of 21:00 and 23:00 on Saturday night, four motorists had their licences confiscated for driving too fast on the motorway near Forus. The highest speed that the police recorded was 150 kph.
