Ramona Tancau Ramona Tancau (Copy Editor)

Ioana — Ramona Tancau was born in Miercurea — Ciuc, Romania in 1987. She graduated the philology–French section at Alexandru Papiu–Ilarian High School in Targu Mures. She continued her studies as an undergraduate at the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG), where she double-majored in Journalism and Mass Communication and Political Science and International Relations.

As a recent graduate, intrigued by the Public Relations and Advertising fields, Ramona looks into the prospect of pursuing a master’s degree in Media/Communications Management in one of the top UK Universities. She believes that pursuing such a degree in the UK will allow her to further polish her interpersonal skills, developed during her four summers of work in the US along with the years of living in Bulgaria, and apply them in the usage of various media outlets.

She has been a member of several church choirs since the age of eight and has been part of the AUBG Choir for three years. She is an avid defender of the “Healthy mind in a healthy body” saying, since she has experienced the overall benefits of regular physical exercise. Her passion for cinema developed with the desire to enjoy an exhilarating visual and audio experience. Her drive for copy editing comes from her general “picky” approach towards everything in her proximity. She believes constructive criticism is the key to success since it always allows people to improve.

Oana Pintilie Oana Pintilie

Oana is a 22 year old Romanian girl who has just graduated from the Journalism School “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University from Iaşi. She worked for Cuzanet, the university’s press agency for a while where she covered areas such as politics, administration, social campaigns that aimed to promote talented children that had no money, and sports. She also has experience with television documentaries. Being a journalist in Romania requires, amongst other things, some compromises. She believes words still have power and that it takes a lot of work and talent to make them valuable.

Some months ago she was an Erasmus student in Norway and since then she has grown very fond of this country. She has become “obsessed” with learning Norwegian, which is always a challenge.

Other than that, Oana has a passion for foreign languages and can speak English, French, Spanish, Italian and a bit of Portuguese at the moment. But she is not planning on stopping here. Her dreams and expectations, as naive as it may sound, are linked to the power of doing good things. She hopes that someday she can say she helped someone through her work.

Whilst studying, she has worked as a cultural reporter for Cuzanet – the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University’s press agency – as well as a sports reporter for the radio in her home town.

Besides writing, she enjoys learning new languages, and speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese. She is currently learning Norwegian.
