The Foreigner Politicians propose altering immigrant requirements. The Labour Party (Ap) want to introduce new requirements for immigrants that include learning Norwegian and finding work. Politician Anette Trettebergstuen is involved with the task force around the new scheme. She wants Norwegian language tuition increased from 300 hours to 600 with an exam at the end of this time. “In this way we can also make sure that the courses fit what you need in the workplace. And we must look at the possibility of practice arrangements for immigrants”, she told Aftenposten.

The Labour Party (Ap) want to introduce new requirements for immigrants that include learning Norwegian and finding work.



Politician Anette Trettebergstuen is involved with the task force around the new scheme. She wants Norwegian language tuition increased from 300 hours to 600 with an exam at the end of this time.

“In this way we can also make sure that the courses fit what you need in the workplace. And we must look at the possibility of practice arrangements for immigrants”, she told Aftenposten.

Trettebergstuen wants to lower the unemployment rate among immigrants, which in some cases is 12 percent. She also wants to get more immigrant women into work hoping that this will help lower poverty.
