Although the suitcase had already been singled-out at x-ray automatically, it subsequently ‘disappeared’ on its way to manual inspection, reports NRK.
All flights were suspended for half-an-hour and check-in shu,t whilst airport staff conducted a feverish search for the case and x-rayed all sent luggage.
They eventually found the bag, containing what turned out to be just the hand grenade’s outer casing without its explosive material.
"The man was just carrying it after having cleared his desk at work. We encourage passengers not to take anything with them that even resembles a weapon, but it is not illegal for airline passengers to carry these in Norway,” Jo Kobro, Information Manager for Oslo Gardermoen, tells The Foreigner.
