Nothing is confirmed for now, but local paper Romsdals Budstikke reports both Solskjær’s former manager and current FIFA player-agent Jim Solbakken, and club director Tarje Nordstrand Jacobsen, held negotiations at Aker Stadium yesterday.

“We have no comment to make until everything has been settled,” Molde’s director tells NRK.

Club sources believe the former striker, and now Sir Alex Ferguson’s reserve team-manager, has been offered a gilt-edged deal backed by Aker owner Kjell Inge Røkke, allowing Solskjær to buy players for millions of kroner.

“I am sure the club will produce a very skilled coach. I believe Molde has a bright future ahead of it,” says Uwe Rössler, Molde’s soon to be ex trainer.
