VG reports police believe the 28-year-old taxi driver at the centre of Faiza Ashraf’s kidnapping allegedly ordered her disfigurement and murder after she rejected him.

The paper says several members of the public have given police information shedding light on the motive for 26-year-old Ashraf’s kidnapping and murder after her body was found dumped in a woodland grove at the end of February this year.

“We received several interesting details. It’s a particularly peculiar case,” says Nina K. Bjørlo, head of crime for Asker and Bærum District Police.”

Also Håvard Nyflødt (26), who has admitted killing her, has told police the taxi driver wanted to avenge Ashraf’s rejections by disfiguring her face with acid so nobody else would want her.

The 28-year-old, who police have also indicted for her murder, tried to recruit five Oslo-based men to kidnap or disfigure Norwegian-Pakistani Ashraf in the weeks leading up to her disappearance on 03 February.

According to VG all were promised money in return. Two people have told detectives they were offered a large amount before Christmas to kidnap Ashraf, one busker was offered 30,000 kroner to disfigure her, and two criminal acquaintances of the taxi driver were asked to help with her kidnapping.

Meanwhile, Nyflødt alleges he wanted to protect Ashraf, and has stated she accidentally died following a struggle in a car park.

“He thinks it came to a terrible end," says his lawyer, Frode Sulland.

26 year-old Ashraf was kidnapped from a bus stop on Fossveien outside a Prix shop in Høvik in Bærum municipality on 03 February, and managed to alert police on her mobile from the boot of her abductor’s car. Police found her body in Asker 22 days later after Nyflødt told them where it lay.
